Borislav Baev carves directly into the wood without preliminary sketches, templates, or drawings. His process is intuitive, guided by the natural form, structure, and character of the material. He works mainly with local wood – plum, birch, walnut, linden, oak, and other types of wood. In the natural curves, knots, cracks, and shifts of colour, he discovers an image and brings it to the surface.
Each sculpture is a one-of-a-kind.
